I’m still working this one. It reminds me of intergalactic lightning and I’m using a grill to stencil spray in an electro-magnetic force field.
Have you ever heard of ‘The Lightning Stalker’? Well, there’s probably a million of them now but the original (and in my mind the one & only) comes from Central Florida.
Orlando. For most of time, it’s a ‘very uncomfotably muggy’, all the time kind of weather and the punctual afternoon storms give way to a rapid fire down pour with an ensuing evenings view of the most spectacular lightning in the world. And lots of it too. In fact, I’m pretty sure that your chances of being struck by a bolt are much higher than a lottery win.
Just sit back. Relax and watch the night sky light up, in full on Blitzkrieg fashion.
Not long after my arrival, I became familiar with the art, photography and sheer bravery of David Stillings. A remarkable fella who takes his gear and stands in the middle of a field, swamp or on a boat during a storm and captures the most incredible shots of lightning crashing across the sky. And he did this the old fashioned way, you know…with a CAMERA. And No Photoshop either.
